Bolton Guitar Studio was established in 1976 by Simon J Lilley Alcm, Llcm,
Ftcl, primarily to give guitar tuition. Due to the demand from my students I
gradually began to retail guitars, music and accessories. I am now into my 33rd
year of trading [ 2006]. I began my interest in the guitar in 1961, learning to play Bob Dylan songs,
then when the Beatles and the beat group scene started I began to play the
electric guitar. Like many of my generation I copied E. Clapton, Jimi Hendrix
and the other guitar heroes. After hearing the great Spanish guitarist Andreas
Segovia, I decided to study the classical guitar. I have toured here and abroad,
played in all types of groups having gained experience in a wide range of
musical styles. I have played on many recording sessions, broadcast on radio,
and have also had guitar books published. I also play the
banjo, baroque guitar and the lute, and can offer tuition in these instruments.
With over 30 years retailing/teaching experience and over 40 years
playing experience I can offer expert, friendly advice on selecting your guitar.
